The British Essence Manufacturers' Association
The British Essence Manufacturers' Association (BEMA) was founded in 1917 to represent the flavour industry.
It is the leading organisation dealing with the legislative needs of the flavour industry in the UK. It has close ties with the European flavouring organisation EFFA and the global flavouring organisation IOFI.
BEMA represents the needs and concerns of the UK industry within governmental organisations, and provides a forum whereby the industry can decide how to deal jointly with customer concerns. Its ties with EFFA and IOFI give a voice to the UK industry in Europe and on a global scale.
